Chastting to Barry on the phone last night, I asked him if he'd seen this TV advert as it always reminds us of him, and he said he hadn't. So after a bit of searching on the internet, I've found it.

Look what I found

Doing a bit of tidying up and sorting out today, I found this little book and I can't remember where or when I bought it.

The very last postcard in the book is of the Rhyl Monorail and I remembered that earlier this year Barry had written a post asking for more information or photos.

Well the same photo is in the book and this is the information:

Rhyl Monorail which was erected in 1979 and opened by T.V. chat-show host Terry Wogan.

It was short lived and lasted only about six weeks. It was later pulled down.

So no, you didn't imagine it Barry, but you were only four years old at the time. I don't think I took you for a ride on it, though I do seem to remember it did come off the rail. If any one knows any different...

MOT

I've been for some blood tests this morning, and then this afternoon I went for some dental treatment. I'm hoping that's my full MOT for this year and that I am roadworthy.

Goodbye for now

We've just waved goodbye to Barry, he's on the train back to London. I know he's enjoyed his stay with us, and that he needed the time to relax and unwind. The five days days have flown by. We've really enjoyed him being here with us.

Hopefully it won't be too long before we see him again.

Father's day

Today we took Amber and Annie to the park for a Sunday afternoon kick around with the football.

You wouldn't guess that Amber is ten years old when she is running backwards and forwards after the ball. Annie chases Amber rather than the ball.

I think Barry has really enjoyed his stay with us, he will be able to watch this video of his time with the dogs.

Keeping busy

Last evening we took the dogs for a walk to the local park and Amber and Annie really enjoyed playing football with Barry.

Not sure why Barry is standing on one leg though!

Today we went out for a cooked breakfast, something we only do when Barry is here to stay. At the moment Barry and his dad are busy connecting a home cinema system we have bought. I'm leaving them to it. Boys and their toys.

Son's visit

Barry has come to spend a few days with us. He arrived on Wednesday and hubby met him at the station and brought him round to the not so super shop. After I had finished work we went for a meal and had a good natter. I thought I had been having a stressful time at work, but Barry definitely needs this time to chill, certainly puts my own problems into perspective.

I've been chatting to Barry about this blog and how I'm usually too tired to write or simply do not want to write about my days in the not so super shop. My blog is more of a dog blog than diary of a shop manager.

While out yesterday we met the author of this blog which both Barry and I enjoy reading. He is a customer in the shop and I sometimes see him out and about. It was quite amusing as when we spotted him I guessed he was gathering information for his blog. We stopped to chat and I introduced him to Barry. He told us he had lived in London for twenty years and one thing he didn't miss was the underground, Barry laughed and said he wasn't missing it either!

I asked him why he didn't enable comments on his blog, he explained and later we found that he had witten this post. I was keen to ask if he was going to continue writing his blog now he has resigned from the town council, and he assured us he will. Good.

I'm having a break from the not so super shop as I think that's what I need too. I will probably be posting some dog pics from this weekend with Barry.
