On meeting Miss Tinker

I've been neglecting my blog of late and I suppose it's because of work. I put in lots of hours in the not so super shop and feel so tired when I get home.

I went to a business development meeting a couple of weeks ago and like many other businesses they expect more and more from us. The message was that they are not sentimental about shops so under performers will go. I work really hard and run a profitable, busy shop.
I don't have a day off this week as my assistant manager is on holiday. That means I will be working fifty odd hours.

With no day off in sight, Sod's law that I developed bad toothache last Friday. So after a couple of sleepless nights over the weekend I went ot see the emergency dentist at the hospital on Sunday morning. Arrived at 8.30 and there was already a queue of about twenty people ahead of me. I was desperate to be seen. Anyway I was and had a loose filling and an infection, so I had the choice of having the tooth out or a temporary filling. I opted for the filling so I now have to wait until next week to see my own dentist for more root canal treatment. Oh joy! I finally left the clinic at 11.20 so that was my Sunday morning gone.

Daughter, son-in-law, Eric and Tinker the lurchers were on their way to visit and arrived minutes after hubby and I arrived home. So it was very nice to take the dogs to the beach for a run.

New addition Tinker had probably never been on a beach before

She made herself at home in Annie's bed, but unfortunately had to go home later that evening

While on the subject of work, hubby has had his assessment and passed, so now has a permanent job, though only part-time. The irony is, he would love a full-time job and I would love to work part-time!

He/She looks quite cute, in a disturbing kind of way.

needs must and we dont often have a choice but such long work hours makes you laugh at the predictions of the 70s that promised technology would deliver greater leisure/work-life balance. hope yer tooth is sorted soon. : )

Sorry to hear about you being so tired. 50 odd hours a week really is too much, at least if you're doing it often.
